Volumetric assessment of Rangely Oilfield, Piceance Basin, CO (2006)

This was my first real work as a petroleum geologist.  During my studies at Western Colorado University, Chevron graciously supplied our program well trajectories, and digital logs for the Rangely Oilfield- the largest oilfield in the Rocky Mountain region.  We used IHS Petra software to perform log analysis and basic petrophysics, interpret well tops, and map out the structure of the Weber Sandstone.  We used the data to perform a reservoir height calculation and create a volumetric assessment of the field.  We then traveled to the field office and discussed the results with the chief reservoir engineer.
